Lancaster, CA – The LA Mission College women's tennis team secured a solid 6-3 win over Antelope Valley College on Tuesday, showcasing strong doubles play and dominant singles performances.
The Eagles took an early lead in doubles, winning two of the three matchups. The top duo of Genesis Nochez and Jaelyn Rivera put on a commanding performance, defeating My Kenzie Gross-Solomon and Alex Coons 8-4 at No. 1 doubles. Meanwhile, Caitlin Nycum and Alitzel Ortega Partida dominated at No. 2 doubles, securing an 8-2 victory over Ariana Valiente and Alex Coons. Antelope Valley responded with a win at No. 3 doubles as Isabel Ortiz and Diana Henriquez defeated Dayana Albizures and Cittalli Diaz 8-2.
In singles action, LA Mission continued to shine, clinching four of six matches to seal the overall victory. Jaelyn Rivera set the tone at No. 1 singles with a commanding 6-3, 6-1 win over Ariana Valiente. Genesis Nochez followed with a strong 6-1, 6-4 victory against Alex Coons at No. 2 singles.
