Los Angeles, CA - April 29, 2024 - The Los Angeles Mission College Eagles softball team is set to make history once again as they host the first round of the 3C2A Regional Playoffs for the first time since 2009. This exciting development follows the team's remarkable performance throughout the 2023-24 season.
With an impressive overall record of 25-13 and a conference record of 9-3, the Eagles have demonstrated their strength and skill on the field. Led by Head Coach Chris Hylland, the team has shown remarkable resilience and determination, earning them a well-deserved spot in the postseason.
Throughout the season, the Eagles have displayed their offensive prowess, scoring a total of 232 runs with a batting average of .321 and a slugging percentage of .465. This solid offensive play has also been a key factor in their success, with 18 home runs and a .396 on-base percentage.
Highlighted by winning the Western State Confenrce South Division, the Eagles have proven themselves as formidable contenders in the region. Now, as they prepare to host the first round of the playoffs, they are determined to continue their winning streak and advance further in the postseason.
The first round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs will see the Eagles facing off against Cerritos College on Friday, May 3, 2024, with game one scheduled for 2:00 PM. The action will continue on Saturday, May 4, 2024, with game two at 12:00 PM. If necessary, a third game will follow at 2:00 PM.
