Cuesta Softball opened its 2025 campaign with a doubleheader against visiting LA Mission. The Cougars struck first and claimed the opener, 6-5, in eight innings, but dropped the nightcap in a slugfest, 14-10. Cuesta is loaded with talent this season, including three returning all-WSC performers. The Eagles did their best to pitch around all-WSC First Teamer Kylyn Parker, who was issued four free passes on the day, while going just-2-for-4 overall. Fellow returning all-WSC performers Danya Boyd and Hailey Hallford went 3-for-7 and 2-for-5, respectively. The Cougars are 1-1 on the season.
Cuesta Softball shall spend the rest of the week on the road. The Cougars travel Cerritos on Friday (1 PM), as Coach Jenel Guadangno looks for a win against her Alma Mater. On Saturday, Cuesta will travel a bit further South for another doubleheader at San Bernardino Valley (11/1 PM)
