Iron Eagle Award Winners

The Iron Eagle award is given to recognize the Los Angeles Mission College athlete that gives the most of him or herself during team lifting seasons. This individual believes in the culture of hard work and disciple within the LAMC Eagles Athletics program and builds that culture within those around them.

Thank you all for you hard work and passion as an Eagle!

2017-2018: Cade Spurlin / Baseball

Cade was an Eagle for two years as a catcher for the LAMC Baseball team. The best quality about Cade is his ability to pick up his team. In the weight room, on and off the field, he demonstrated the true character of dedication not only to himself, but to his teammates.

"Cade had an extraordinary two years for us at Mission College," Head Baseball Coach Joe Cascione said. "He led our team in almost every offensive category his sophomore season. He was a workhorse for us on the field.  Worked hard during practice to achieve his goals.

Cade transferred to Dixie State University in St. George, Utah, where he plays baseball for the Trailblazers.

2016-2017: Ben Kaser / Baseball

Ben was an Eagle for two years as a pitcher for the LAMC Baseball team. Ben is one of those guys who did not have to say much, but led his team though his constant hard work and disciple. There was rarely a day when Ben was not in the weight room to warm-up, lift, pre-hab, or stretch. He is always driving to get better.

"Ben was one of my hardest-working players on and off the field," Head Baseball Coach Joe Cascione said. "He got the most of his ability during his time at Mission. He was a true leader. All players respected Ben."

Ben transferred to the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco, where he plays baseball for the Knights.

2015-2016: Luke Lacy / Baseball

Luke is Los Angles Mission College's first Iron Eagle.
