L.A. Mission College Cross Country Makes Strides at 2023 SD Cross Country Kickoff

The 2023 SD Cross Country Kickoff was nothing short of electric, featuring some of the best teams from around the region. Among those teams, L.A. Mission College stood out for their determination, grit, and resilience, even though they faced stiff competition.

 

Men's 5,000 Meter Team Results

In the men's category, Cuyamaca reigned supreme, finishing with an impressive total time of 1:26:05 and an average of 17:13. They were closely trailed by Saddleback and then L.A. Mission College.

 

For the L.A. Mission College Men's team, they secured the third spot with a total time of 1:36:13 and an average time of 19:14. The lead runner for the team was Anthony Gomez, finishing 11th overall with a time of 18:06. Ryan Adrayan and Aaron Garcia also put forth valiant efforts, finishing the race in 18:25 and 19:05 respectively.

 

Women's 2.1 Mile Team Results

The women's race saw Saddleback taking the crown with a total time of 1:15:29 and an average time of 15:05, giving them a score of 37. Following closely behind were Cuyamaca and San Diego City College, finishing second and third, respectively.

 

L.A. Mission College's Women's team put in a commendable effort, finishing in the sixth position with a total time of 1:34:07, having an average time of 18:49. Alejandra Valenzuela was the leading runner for the team, clocking a time of 16:59, finishing in the 20th spot overall. She was closely followed by her teammate Isis Mora, who recorded a time of 17:05.
