As the 2023 volleyball season approaches, We are filled with excitement, with a mix of seasoned players and newcomers, the Eagles are gearing up for a campaign that holds the road to success. With a refreshed roster and a renewed team spirit, the upcoming season presents an opportunity for the Eagles to rise to new heights in both the WSC (Western Sports Conference) and the playoffs.
Previous Season: Reflecting on the past season, the Eagles displayed their resilience by posting a 16-12 overall record, a significant improvement from their earlier performance of only 3 wins in Coach Mardini's early season. This progress serves as a display of the team's dedication and the transformative impact of their coach's leadership. "The culture at present is awesome! Girls connect well and are excited about the challenge of a new season. It feels extra special with the strong core we have as well. Our program goal is to be a perennial program in the state, and this year will prove to be the turning point. It's a tough task with so many good teams across the state, and we are excited for the challenge. Loaded with a talented incoming freshmen class and adding the experience of the seven Sophomores, this season is destined to be a memorable one," said Coach Mardini.
Embracing a Memorable Year: The Eagles are set to kick off their journey with the Cerritos and Cuesta Scrimmage weekend on August 18th and 19th. Additionally, the program is gearing up for the third annual Kickoff Classic and Eagle Invitational Volleyball Tournament that will take place on Friday, September 1st, and Saturday, September 2nd, inside our newly redone gym, events that promise to set the stage for an exciting season ahead. Eagles will be on the road for their season conference opener against Citrus College on September 20th at 6:00 pm, ending that week with the first home conference opener against West LA on Friday, September 22nd at 6:00 pm. As the anticipation builds, the players, coaches, and fans alike recognize the potential for this season to be established into the records of the program's history.
