Women's Tennis traveled to Ventura last week and had an impressive Conference Playoff performance. Anna Kynclova and Angela Zamorano had "byes" for the first round and automatically advanced to the second round. Bella Cornejo, Verenice Prado, Julisa Galvan, and Fatima Peralta all won their matches in the first round.
Anna and Bella also beat College of the Canyons for their first-round doubles and Julisa and Verenice won their doubles match to advance to round two.
In singles, Anna Kynclova won her match 6-0. 6-1 to advance to the regionals later this month. Anna also has advanced to the Individual Championship next week in Ventura after beating Santa Monica 6-1, 6-4. Awesome accomplishment for Anna.
In doubles, Anna and Bella beat Ventura's number one team and will be advancing to the Semi-Finals next week in Ventura. Anna and Bella will also be advancing to Regionals later this month as the number 1 doubles team.
Also, in doubles play Julisa and Verenice had an impressive win over College of the Canyons to advance to Regionals and next weeks semi-finals in Ventura.
For team playoffs the Mission Lady Eagles earned the 6th seed in the playoffs and will be traveling to 3rd seed Orange Coast on April 5th.
It has been a magical inaugural season for this Women's Tennis team going 13-4 overall and 9-3 in Conference play.
Coach Cascione said of the team, "you couldn't ask for a better group of young ladies that have given their ultimate best effort every single time they walked on that court. It has been a truly amazing season. Something I think myself, and the rest of the team will never forget."
Lady Eagles also earned 2nd Team All Conference Awards for Anna Kynclova, Verenice Prado, Victoria Garcia, and Bella Cornejo.
