Women's Tennis Inaugural Season Starts Strong

The Los Angeles Mission College Women's Tennis team is off to a 9-1 start this season and 5-1 in Western State Conference play. 

Freshman, Anna Kynclova, is leading the way at number one singles by winning 9 total matches on the year. Followed by freshman teammates, Julisa Galvan, Angela Zamorano, Verniece Prado, Fatima Peralta, Victoria Garcia, and Bella Cornejo. 

All the ladies have contributed during the season and are heading into the second part of the season in second place in conference. 

The 9 total wins currently leads all teams in Southern California. 

 

The Tennis team consists of all Freshman.  This is the inaugural season for Women's Tennis at Mission College and the ladies are making the most of it. 

The team recently defeated a tough Santa Monica team 5 games to 4.  Julisa Galvan and Verenice Prado earned doubles point and Angela Zamorano, Bella Cornejo, Julisa, and Verneice all earned singles point to help contribute to the victory. 

 

Head Coach, Joe Cascione has nothing but positive things to say about his team. Cascione added, " What makes this group of young ladies so special is how hard they work and how well they get along. It has been a truly special season up to this point and we hope to keep it rolling."

 

The lady eagles will take on College of the Sequoias in a non-conference match on Saturday February 26th at 2:00pm at El Cariso Park (Home Courts) and continue next week's Western State Conference play against College of the Canyons on March 1st at 2:00pm at El Cariso Park for the battle of FIRST PLACE!!!p
