Men's Cross Country Socal Preview Recap

Men's Cross Country Socal Preview Recap

The fall of 2019 brought back the men's cross country program here at Los Angeles Mission College. And while the season is still young, the group of men is beginning to build the culture of that program.

The Eagles competed in their second meet of the fall over the weekend as they traveled down to San Diego for the SoCal Regional Preview. Despite not finishing with a full team, they had a strong second meet.

Kieran Burmeister led the Eagles on the day crossing the line in 175th place with a time of 27:48. Just five spots behind him was freshman, Abraham Cota, who finished 180th. He finished with a time of 28:13, which is also a personal best.

Finishing third on the team for LAMC was freshman Antonio Gutierrez. He finished the four-mile course in 184th and a time of 28:30. Rounding out the Eagles on the day was Victor Varela. Varela was 203rd on the afternoon. He finished with a time of 33:51.

The Eagles will head to Huntington Beach this upcoming weekend for the Golden West Invitational. They race on Friday, September 20 at 11:00 AM with the women's race happening prior to theirs.
