Sylmar, CA – The Los Angeles Mission College Eagles displayed an emphatic performance in their encounter with Moorpark on November 3, 2023, concluding with a thrilling 7-3 victory for the home side at El Cariso Park.

In a game that will be remembered for its offensive showcase, the Eagles improved their record to 7-5-7, while Moorpark slipped to 4-13-1. The high-scoring affair left the 273 fans in attendance thoroughly entertained.

The match started with an immediate jolt as Moorpark's Ryan Quinn found the net just 36 seconds in, giving the visitors an early lead. However, the Eagles responded with poise. Ricardo Govea evened the score at 26:09 with an assist from Rudy De Leon, kickstarting the Eagles' scoring spree.

Despite Moorpark momentarily regaining the lead thanks to Rudy Maravilla's strike at 33:08, the Eagles' tenacity shone through. Anthony Macedo leveled once again, marking the beginning of a relentless Eagles' rally. Diego Rodriguez, assisted by Luis Lima, then put LA Mission ahead before adding another to his name with help from Macedo.

The second half echoed the narrative of the first, with the Eagles asserting their dominance. Macedo doubled his tally, capping a well-orchestrated play involving Govea and Junior Eliemballa. Justin Gonzalez added a solo effort, increasing the gap further.

While Moorpark's Andrez Fernandez managed to notch their third goal, it was Joshiel Zeledon's unassisted mark that rounded off a dominant Eagles' performance.

Goalkeeper Jose Mendiola was impressive between the sticks for the Eagles, stopping 8 out of 11 shots on goal. His counterpart, Jordon Ramirez of Moorpark, faced an onslaught, making 7 saves against the 14 shots that found their target.

The Eagles outshot Moorpark with 29 shots to 17 and matched them on corner kicks, with each team earning four. In a match that was intense and physical, LA Mission saw two of its players booked with yellow cards – a small blemish on an otherwise sterling performance.

The night at El Cariso Park saw the Eagles demonstrate why soccer is often referred to as "the beautiful game," with a harmonious blend of teamwork, strategy, and individual brilliance. As the Eagles soar higher with this win, their sights will be firmly set on carrying this form into their upcoming fixtures.
