My name is Samantha Ochoa, and I am 18 years old. I am a freshman here at Mission and am undecided on my major. My sport in high school was varisty cheer for all four years, and I was captain for three of those years. I have competed nationally and was ranked 13th in the nation. Cheer inspired me to take on Cross Country because since cheer was physically demanding of me, I wanted to continue to push myself physically and mentally. I have ran many races including 5k's and 10k's, and believe that Cross Country will help progress my athleticism and speed. My absolute favorite food is Chinese and my favorite color is maroon and gray. I hope that I will be able to transfer to either USC or Syracuse University after finishing my general education and AA here. I love participating in different activities and trying new things to gain experience and find things that really interest me. Even though Cross Country is somewhat new to me, I truly believe this will be my new passion and I will be able to excel.
