The Eagles defeated the Citrus College Owls in four sets friday night to claim their second win of the week.
In the first set L.A. Mission cruised to a 25-20 victory thanks to clean play and only one error.
In set two the Eagles managed to battle off 7 Citrus set points after trailing 19-24 to win 30-28.
The unforced errors finally caught up with the home team in set three and the Owls won 25-23.
Thanks in part to great defense in the back row L.A. Mission finally got its offense back in rhythm in the fourth and final set winning comfortably with a score of 25-21.
The Eagles currently lead the state in most aces per set and they added 14 more aces during the match to their total.
Mission’s Claudia Moreno reached a new career best finishing with a game high 23 kills.
Opposite hitter Samantha Sedano also added 14 kills and Zoe Baer, who is normally a defensive specialist, came in off the bench to play front row contributing 7 kills.
Lucia Estrada led the team in digs with 27 and Samantha Sullivan had 43 assists on the night.
The Eagles current record now stands at an impressive 7-3.
Their next match will be Wednesday October 5 at Santa Barbara City College at 6 p.m.
SBCC is currently ranked 3rd overall in the state.
