Eagles Lose to COC in Straight Sets

Los Angeles Mission College women’s volleyball traveled to College of the Canyons for a match on Veterans Day.

The Eagles showed moments of greatness throughout the evening but were unable to take a set off of COC.

In game one Coach Barraza was forced to call an early timeout when the team went down 0-4.

They fought back taking the lead at 10-9 after a big kill from middle blocker Breanna Nichols.

The Eagles held the lead all the way to 22-20 until some unforced errors and bad passing got COC back into the game.

The Cougars would score five consecutive points to win the opening game 25-22.

In set two the Eagles trailed the whole game only managing to tie the score once at 13-13.

Passing errors late in the game were a problem for the team again and they dropped set 2 25-17.

In the final set the Eagles did manage to get their offense going again and kept the score close for the majority of the game.

They would end up coming up short though losing the last set 25-21.

The last game of conference will be this Wednesday November 16 at home against West Los Angeles College.

The match will begin at 6 p.m. and it will be the Eagles sophomore night so come out and support in what could be the last match of the season!
