Sandra Durazo enters her 8th year in her position as P.E./Athletic Facility Assistant after serving as Mission's head softball coach from 2005-2015.

During her tenure as Mission's softball coach, she developed an exceptional program which captured the college's first-ever Western State Conference Championship and first-ever berth to the postseason playoffs. Her was highlighted in 2008 by her Western State Conference and Southern California Coach of the Year honors, after a season in which Mission finished 36-10 overall and 21-4 in WSC play, clinching its first conference title. The Eagles set a school record with 36 victories. 

In 2009, Mission clinched its second straight title with a 31-11 overall, 16-4 conference record. The Eagles defeated Long Beach City College in the first round of the playoffs and were crowned Regional Champions. In the second round of the playoffs the Eagles traveled to Cypress College and dropped a heartbreaker in the third game of the best-of-three series to lose the Super Regional Championship. 

A standout collegiate athlete, Durazo played at San Diego State University (SDSU) from 1998 to 2001, where she was a four-year starter on the softball team. She earned Western Athletic Conference First Team honors in 1999 and Mountain West Conference First Team honors in 2000 and 2001. In 2000 she earned Academic All-MWC honors.  In 2001 she earned NFCA TPS West Region First Team honors, MWC All Tournament Team honors and Academic All-MWC honors.  In her career she earned WAC Pitcher of the Week honors twice and MWC Pitcher of the Week honors seven times.

In 2001, she was named the Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Year as she helped lead SDSU to their first ever NCAA Regional Tournament appearance where they finished in the top 16.

In SDSU record books, her name appears an amazing 35 times in various categories including school records for career wins (87), appearances (165), game started (116), complete games (95), career shutouts , innings pitched (879.0) and strikeouts.  Her season records (set in 2001) include wins (30), games started (40), complete games (35) and innings pitched (297.1). At SDSU she received numerous accolades including the San Diego Hall of Champions Breitbard Athletic Award, In 2009 had her #13 jersey retired and in 2011 became the 2nd softball player in school history to be inducted to the San Diego State University Hall of Fame.  

After college, she continued on her softball career to play professionally overseas signing for the Italian team Caronno Rhea-Vendors. In the 2002 Italian Series A1 season, she led the league in strikeouts and helped her team advance to the post season tournament for the first time in Series A1.

Durazo was born and raised in Southern California. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice for San Diego State University. She is married to David Lusk and has a son, Jayden (10), and daughter, Alyssa (7).
